The Village Institute

Psychotherapy Treatment

in New York City and Fayetteville AR

Effective, Affordable Treatment

Our patients receive highly personalized, effective treatment that is tailored to each patient’s needs. Individual, couples, and group counseling are available for adults, adolescents, and children. We specialize in developing individualized treatment plans that help patients to solve current problems effectively and quickly, and to bring about lasting change so that today's problems do not resurface in the future.
We treat people, not behaviors.

Our Focus

To achieve these goals, the therapist exercises principles of psychotherapy designed to be responsive to what you need right now, and to also promote long-lasting change. Therapy sessions at The Village Institute focus on:
  • Personal Experience/Relationships
  • Self-understanding/Knowledge
  • Origin of Problem/Behavior
  • Emotional and Behavioral Change
  • Long-lasting Benefits
Currently, we have over 200 active patients. In pursuit of improving access to quality therapy services, The Village Institute has proudly launched dozens of well-trained psychotherapists into the community, and continues to focus on the development of innovative psychological programs that help to improve patients’ lives both in New York, NY and Fayetteville, AR.

The History of The Village Institute

The Village Institute for Psychotherapy was established in 1994. Its founder, Dr. Frederick Woolverton, envisioned a psychotherapy center where all patients could receive high quality, effective, affordable treatment with psychotherapists who shared his strong belief in the benefits of therapy. By 2004, the Institute had grown to include our staff of 10 psychotherapists and had already provided services to hundreds of patients. In August 2005, the Institute expanded to Fayetteville, Arkansas in order to bring a “New York style” psychotherapy to a Southern, less urban setting. Dr. Woolverton maintains oversight of both locations.
